CyberBlitz
Game presentation:
CyberBlitz was a team project at FutureGames where I was the lead game designer. The vision for the game was to make a fast paced cyberpunk game inspired by Xcom, Chess and Battleships. I wanted to make a 1v1 multiplayer, turn based game where the actions of both players were played out at the same time. We ended up constructing a movement and guard action. In short, the idea of the game is that if an enemy player´s unit runs past your guard cone, your unit will use gun fire and vice versa. Last man standing wins.
My role
My role in the project was to make final decisions and make sure the rest of the team stuck to our common vision. I was the "spider in the web”, a problem solver in all areas. I also tweaked game mechanics and character stats, and implemented the animations for the characters.
In a competitive showdown at FutureGames, CyberBlitz ended up winning in the categories “Most fun”, "Most innovative”, “Best technical”, "Best UI”, and was the runner up in the category “Best project”.
