Basement Dweller

Game presentation:

Basement Dweller is a horror/mystery game that takes place in an apartment complex. The player gets mysterious notes and messages from a new landlord, and can use a phone to see things that are not visible to the naked eye.

My role:

I made this game single handedly, and thereby had all the roles. My vision for the game was to center it around a phone with multiple functions (such as receiving mysterious messages, give the player ability to search dark areas with the help of its flashlight, and make use of the camera to see hidden objects).

I also wanted the audio to be a big part of the game's haunted atmosphere. While walking the corridor the player will hear the neighbors talk, and when descending the stairs, the spookiness is enhanced by a racing heartbeat.

I designed and gray boxed the level by using the ProBuilder tool for Unity. I also did all the necessary coding for the project, which was great fun!
